As part of the Erasmus+ co-funded project AI4All: Empowering Inclusive Digital Innovation Through Human-Centered AI, XU Exponential University of Applied Sciences successfully delivered the second workshop within Activity 2: AI4All Handbook Implementation and Case Study Development Workshops. The workshop, titled “Applying Inclusive AI: Advanced Prompting, Personalisation & Case Design,” took place during Orientation Week at the XU campus in Potsdam and brought together students in an engaging and practice-oriented learning environment.
Location: Hall Barbara, XU Campus, Potsdam
Date: April 1st
The workshop was led by Prof. Dr. Stefan Stein, Prof. Dr. Petyo Budakov, and Prof. Dr. Raad Bin Tareaf, who guided participants through advanced applications of AI prompting, inclusive content design, and personalised learning strategies in educational and publishing contexts.
Building directly on the outcomes and reflections from Workshop 1, the second workshop represented a significant transition from foundational understanding toward applied implementation. While the first workshop introduced participants to ethical and inclusive AI principles, Workshop 2 focused on transforming this knowledge into tangible educational outputs and real-world case study development.
Throughout the session, students explored how advanced prompt engineering can function as a form of editorial and instructional design. Participants learned how carefully structured prompts can improve clarity, accessibility, and audience adaptation when working with AI-generated educational content. Special attention was given to the importance of designing prompts that support diverse learner profiles, multilingual audiences, and different levels of prior knowledge.
A central component of the workshop focused on the development of inclusive AI case studies aligned with the objectives of the AI4All Handbook. Students collaborated in groups and worked on several educational scenarios, including:
- Inclusive content redesign
- AI-supported personalised learning pathways
- AI-supported exam preparation and revision support
Through practical exercises and collaborative tasks, participants experimented with advanced prompting syntax, audience-oriented content transformation, and AI-assisted learning material development. They explored how AI can be used responsibly to simplify complex academic information, create accessible reader-oriented outputs, and support adaptive learning experiences without compromising ethical standards or authorship integrity.
The workshop also highlighted the importance of critical evaluation when using AI systems in educational and publishing environments. Participants were encouraged to assess AI-generated outputs not only for accuracy and usability, but also for inclusivity, transparency, bias awareness, and pedagogical relevance. This reflective approach helped students better understand the role of human oversight in AI-assisted creative and educational workflows.
One of the most valuable outcomes of the session was the collaborative and iterative process through which participants refined their ideas and exchanged peer feedback. By testing and improving prompts collectively, students gained deeper insight into how AI can support learner-centred educational design and inclusive communication practices.
Workshop 2 further validated the AI4All project’s objective of moving beyond theoretical discussion toward practical and scalable implementation. The activities demonstrated how advanced prompting and human-centred AI approaches can contribute to more accessible, adaptive, and inclusive learning environments across Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training contexts in Europe.
By the end of the workshop, participants had significantly strengthened their competences in:
- Advanced and ethical prompt engineering
- Inclusive content transformation
- AI-supported personalisation strategies
- Accessible educational communication
- Critical evaluation of AI-generated outputs
The successful implementation of Workshop 2 at XU University marks another important milestone for the AI4All consortium and reinforces the project’s commitment to promoting ethical, transparent, and inclusive uses of Artificial Intelligence in education and digital innovation.
XU University extends sincere thanks to all participants, facilitators, and project partners who contributed to this engaging and impactful workshop experience.
